The 13th International Criminal Law Congress will be held at Rydges Lakeland Resort in beautiful Queenstown, in Aotearoa, New Zealand, between: Wednesday 12th and Sunday 16th September 2012 on the theme "Shrinking International Criminal Code".
A highly motivated organizing committee chaired by Judge David Wilson QC of the District Court of Auckland, is putting together a diverse programme which will explore contemporary issues of particular significance to national and international criminal justice. Speakers will be drawn from leading Judges, practitioners and academics.
The programme will include such diverse topics as Cyber Crime and detection, and essential Bill of Rights issues.
There will be a delightful and challenging social programme including opportunities for all that this country's adventure capital has to offer including skiing, bungy jumping and jet boat rides. In keeping with previous conferences there is certain to be controversy and varied opportunities for learning and collegial exchange as well as the traditional social functions being maintained. There will be a formal black tie congress dinner and the traditional long lunch.
The conference should be of interest to not only Justices of Superior Courts, Judges with jury, general and youth warrants, members of the Criminal Bar both defence and prosecution, but also to scholars, teachers, researchers and students of law.
A range of accommodation options from the most luxurious to the more modest will suit all tastes. Most accommodation options are within walking distance of the venue. |
